Management

Howard Jopp
The director of Politismos is Howard Jopp with nearly 30years experience in teaching and training EFL, French, German and Italian.  Half of this time has been spent abroad in Asia, North Africa and Europe with the last fifteen years spent in Hull in further and higher education as well as doing freelance work teaching clients privately in the local area and abroad in France and Finland. He has also worked as a translator from three languages into English.

Misun Kim
Misun Kim deals with finance, office administration and our South Korean clients. Originally from Seoul in South Korea, she has been living in the UK in Hull for nearly a decade and has been with Politismos since its beginnings. Her particular areas of expertise are in accounting and East Asia.

 

 

Tutors and Trainers

Teachers and trainers employed by Politismos are locally-based and come from a variety of backgrounds.  The majority will already be involved in education locally.  Some may be native speakers of English while others may be native speakers of the language you are learning.  Some may also possess particular skills and knowledge, e.g. business experience, apart from language.  Whoever becomes your tutor/trainer, you can be sure they will be capable of meeting your needs and keeping you motivated.

Ed Hunter
Ed has had many years experience as a teacher of EFL. At the moment he is mainly working with Korean, Chinese and Saudi students. Recently he spent two years in Spain working with all age groups and abilities teaching general and business English. He is also a sports camera operator and filmmaker and works in UK schools teaching students about media.
